Math is Music - Dorothy Vaughan

I am a Woman,
I am Black,
I am a Teacher,
I am a Mathematician,
I am a Developper,
I am a Computer,
I am a Mother,
I am Dorothy Vaughan.

In 2024, the Institut Galilée at the Villetaneuse campus of Université Sorbonne Paris Nord renamed four of its lecture halls in tribute to great women figures in science, including Dorothy Vaughan.
To help share her journey and story, we were invited to design a series of posters as well as a short film retracing the life and achievements of this hidden pioneer.
(Opening night: September 11, 2025).

Our works are now displayed in the lecture halls, transforming these places of learning into spaces of memory and inspiration.

We thank Mr. Cary, Dorothy Vaughan's grandson, for generously sharing his memories.
