Dear Shroom

A speculative exhibition imagining a future language through a fictional world built across research, writing and multimedia design.
November 2024 – November 2025

Dear Shroom is a hybrid project combining writing, zine-making, object design, 3D and screen printing, created in collaboration with Ulysse Migeat for the exhibition "Systèmes, comment s'écrit demain?" at the BULAC (2025). The exhibition was conceived and curated collectively by the entire DSAA DCN cohort at École Estienne.

Drawing on the 80 writing systems held at the library of languages and civilizations, we developed a fictional world and a speculative language centered on an imaginary organism, the mycotel. This work was shaped by conversations with guest speakers, including Florian Targa (language historian, INALCO) and Ketty Steward (French science fiction author known for her socially engaged work).

The exhibition is accompanied by a website and a teaser trailer retracing the full project, available below.
